The wet monsoons in, which begins almost as soon as June starts, are important to India. They are responsible for almost 90 percent of India’s water supply. The rain usually last till September. The torrential rains of India’s celebrated summer monsoon could soon be a thing of the past with the climate change which is replacing the wet season with drought. Monsoon basicaly has come from the Arabic word ‘mawsim’ meaning weather and it refers to the gracious bounty of the generator, operator and destructor in the form of merciful rains.
